Greek Language Experts
We were born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece and we first met in kindergarten. Over the years we followed different paths and went to different high schools but life brought us back together in 2019. Back then, I (Emily) was already living in New York City and I (Danai) was living in Athens. During the first quarantine in March 2020, online learning became very popular and that’s how the idea arose. Greek Language Experts, is a website for foreigners that are interested in learning the Greek language. There will be classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced level students with the choice of a group class, private class or self-paced videos. Each level will have subsections in order to fully understand the Greek language and be able to speak with no fear or hesitation.
Our Team
Hi everyone, my name is Danai Siaylou and I am the co-founder of Greek Language Experts. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from IEK Delta of Thessaloniki and 200 hours certificate from Yoga Alliance. I have been teaching for over a year now and I’m loving it! It’s so nice sharing your knowledge with other people and watching them grow. To tell you the truth, I never thought I would be teaching, but since I’ve started I just can’t get enough. The reason why I started teaching is because on the first quarantine many things changed in my life. I realized that one of the most important things in life is to give. When you give with all your heart you feel complete and the kindness you get from the people around you is priceless. When Emily told me her idea about a website that will allow people to have access learning Greek anytime, anywhere and online, I was thrilled. Yay!! Hello there! My name is Emily Intzekostas and I am the co-founder of Greek Language Experts and I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki specialized in Education. I have been teaching Greek as a second language to adults since 2018, the year that I moved to New York City. In 2020, I earned a Master’s degree in Special Education (Grades 7-12) and I have been teaching in a High School since 2019. I am dual certified in SPED and teaching Greek as a second language. Teaching is my passion and since the pandemic and online learning started, I became passionate about the potentials of learning a foreign language online, anywhere and at any time. My goal is to spread the Greek Language across the States and provide students with numerous opportunities to participate online. The reason I love teaching Greek as a second language is because it makes me very happy to hear people speaking my mother tongue. Looking forward seeing each one of you on our first lesson! Greetings everyone! My name is Margarita Vasou and i am originally from Ioannina, Greece! I am 28 years old and i hold a bachelor degree in Law. I am currently finishing my minor in Political Science and i am a senior student in Lehman College, pursuing a bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance! My passion of teaching greek started when i first moved in USA back in 2015 when i start teaching Greek American children in the Saturdays Church school! Being able to teach my native language to other people makes me happy and fills my heart with joy and pride. I have been a new member of the GLE family and am thankful that they gave me the opportunity to teach greek to adults. Can’t wait to work with all of the students of GLE and share my passion of teaching greek with them!

Hi there! My name is Xrisanthi Antoniou. I was born and raised in Thessaloniki. With a diverse career at the Municipality of Thessaloniki, I have held various roles and spent the last 12 years as a project manager for European-funded programs. This extensive experience has equipped me with a unique skill set and a deep understanding of project management and international collaboration. I am deeply passionate about my country and committed to supporting businesses that aim to promote Greece and its rich heritage. My vision is to use my positive energy and strong work ethic to help Greek Language Experts spread the Greek language and culture far and wide. I look forward to working with you and sharing my passion for Greece's vibrant culture and history.

Hello everyone! My name is Giannis and I am from Thessaloniki, Greece. I graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with an Education major and later on I decided to get a diploma on Social Media! I was amazed by the possibilities and the creativity this field brings and when Emily & Danai told me about their business I immediately agreed on taking over the GLE social media profiles. A few months later I started teaching group classes and it quickly became my new passion! I love meeting new people from all over the world and seeing their passion of learning the Greek language! I am happy to meet all of you and looking forward to seeing you soon in one of our classes and who knows you might be featured on social media as well :)

Hello everyone! My name is Eleni Antoniadou. I am from Thessaloniki, and for the past few years, I have been living permanently in Chania, Crete. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Macedonia in Educational and Social Policy, specialized in Special Education. For the past six years, I have been working as a special education teacher at an elementary school, and I am also the coordinator of educational projects at the Greek NGO “Ecogenia.” It has always been my dream to work in education, and I have realized how fulfilling it is to offer, create, and make learning enjoyable for children. As a new member of GLE, when I was offered the opportunity, I found it to be a very attractive chance to meet people from different parts of the world, share my love for my native language, and interact with adult learners this time! I look forward to meeting all of you and embarking on this exciting journey together!

Hello everyone! My name is Matilda. I am from Himara and I currently live in New York. I am a graduate of the University of Piraeus, Department of Economics, with a Master's degree from Brooklyn College in Global Business and Finance. Greek is not only my native language but also the way I commu-nicate with my dearest people. I love teaching Greek as a second language at Greek Language Experts because I want to prove the beauty of learning Greek to as many people as possible. Hello everyone!My name is Eleftheria Papakonstantinou and I'm from Thessaloniki, Greece. I’m 27 years old, and I hold a bachelor's in Education from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I’m currently pursuing a Master's degree in Distance Education from Greece’s Open University. Teaching has been my passion since I was a little kid. I’ve been teaching Greek as a second language since 2020, right before the pandemic started and during that difficult time I realized the importance of open and distance learning. Teaching at GLE has been a magical experience for me because I get to meet so many people interested in my native language who live thousands miles away from Greece. I can’t wait to meet you all and have the best time learning Greek!
